Middle name suggestions for Isabelle or Madeleine please

We're a few days off due date for DC1 and whilst we're still in the wilderness with boys names (perhaps another thread!) we thought we were sorted with girls names as for several years DH and I have agreed and loved Isabelle, Madeleine or Matilda and were going to team this with a middle name of Rose.
However we've been having a rethink as I've been reading how popular and overused Rose is as a middle name at the mo.

So do you have any suggestions please??

Our surname is 2 syllables and is uncommon and a bit harsh/sharp sounding!

But Rose is a beautiful name and does go perfectly with those names!

Who cares if it's popular if you like it?

Rose is lovely and fits really well.

How about another one-syllable name like Fay, Grace or Eve?

MyLastDuchess · 23/12/2012 08:27

My sis has a Madeleine Elise.

I have an Isabelle Florence , named after my nan but think it goes well

Thanks for the suggestions, I do like Florence (for Isabelle I think, maybe a bit much with Madeleine) and we aren't 100% set against Rose so all very useful comments!

Love rose as a middle name.
I know a little Isabelle Marie and think that's a pretty name.

I've got an Isobel followed by the name of the flower which has white petals and a yellow centre. :)

Joy would be lovely with either of them.
Isabelle Wren
Madeleine Alice

Madeleine Darcy
Isabelle Maeve
Madeleine Clover
Isabelle Posy
Madeleine Harriet

Do you have a family name you could use? Jane and Ann seem are my family names.

CPtart · 23/12/2012 18:57

Catherine

I have an Isabelle Clare. We have a 2 syllable surname so a one syllable middle name seemed plenty.

Thank you all - this has been really helpful and I think we have now got 2 options which we're happy to choose on birth (if it turns out to be a DD). Now on to trying to find a boy's name we both love......
