Tate John Lloyd and I don't mind the usual shortening to Tae or TJ. My dads a John.

Other first name options are
Jonty (would find a different middle name then)
Dexter
Shay
Bradley
Taylor came off the list yesterday after I heard it shouted across McDonald's!

Many thanks

Tate is lovely. And jonty is sweet too.

Thank you, finally found a name that me and Dh agree and like his brother Ashton it's not heard a lot. I think this could be the one. My hubby is not keen on the Jonty but said it was ok and I have been half hearted about the others.

Love it Grin!

SugarMeFingers · 23/12/2012 09:31

Only know 1 Tate and I love the name. Go for it. Ashton and Tate sound really nice together.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/12/2012 14:36

Nope - don't like it, sorry. But don't really like any of them so we clearly have different taste. Shay is the worst though.

Frikadellen · 23/12/2012 15:57

Iknow 1 Tate who is in his 30's now and it is a beautiful name.

Damash12 · 23/12/2012 23:25

Thanks to all, I think it's defo the fave, although when I said it in the car out loud earlier our gorgeous little 4 year old chimed back "it's sounds like potato, ha ha ha that's funny mummy" I was not amused :-) and will not be swayed by the innocence of a child who may I add as offered various names which include Mayonnaise, Ethiopian (while watching the Olympics he overheard a reference to Mo) And Frank!!!!! Lol :-)

Shouted across maccies? But you were there too I assume so what's the problem with that? Personally not a fan of Shay or Bradley (which to me sounds more "shout across McDonald's" than Taylor!) but I do like the other names quite a lot, Tae as a nickname is adorable I have to say! :)

I only know one little Tate and she's a girl, so for me it sounds a bit girly. But then I only know one Ashton and she's a girl too....

Jonty - is possibly the worst boys name in the world.
Dexter - is lovely as long as DC is a puppy.
Shay - I only know one, and guess what? She's a girl (although she's Shaye)
Bradley - this is really different to the others, but quite nice as it's simple and not try hard different.
Taylor - is actually my favourite from your list, kids with all sorts of names go to McDonalds.

We have Dexter Miles! Born before the TV series!

mayanna234 · 24/12/2012 22:14

I like Tate and also Jonty - I know one, short for Jonathan.

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/12/2012 00:28

I like it. Tate is most definitely masculine sounding to my ears btw.

I've never met a Tate but it seems like the kind of name that doesn't have a particular "end person". Could be super cool, quiet and intellectual, sporty etc and it would all fit with the name.
