I have the choice and can't decide

So it may be we have a boy (due date tomorrow) and we are sorted for names if we do. But if we have a girl this is the choice which dh has said is more or less mine.

Either

C-- M----

Where C is my favourite name and M is one he likes and I am a but meh about

Or

A-- R--

Where both names are great but I feel I would grieve a bit for C---

Trouble is dd1 is also C- R- so need a different middle initial if we use the C first name.

The C name is more unusual. Dh is worried I'll go off it in due course because it's not a classic name as such. I am worried we won't use it but someone else we know will and I'll be terribly upset because it's 'our' name and rare enough you'd never use it if there was already one in your friendship group.

Should I care about a meh middle name? Will I get over not using favourite name? (second fave is also good). Would two C dd's matter? How have we not decided with just one day, potentially, to go?

Hope it comes soon. Can't bear two more weeks of vacillating about names.

Oh, go with C M so you both get a name you like. Middle names are not used much anyway.

C- M-. What are they!!! Also, you are highly unlikely to go off your child's name!

Why not C- A- R-? Or C- M- A- R- etc? Two C DDs won't really matter.

Well we may have a third in which case I'd want to save the A name. Also it will have two surnames and four initials quite enough I think. Hmmmm

I would go with CM.
Fine to have two children with the same letter so long as they are not very similar names.
