Freda,hylton x2, Elizabeth x3, Hannah, George, Stanley, Margaret, dinah, Ruth.
Sitting with fil so asked him his ; Elizabeth x2, Harry, winnie, tom. that's all he knows.

Other common family names: Joseph, Phoebe, Arthur, Alice ... and special mention to the brave GGGM who called her firstborn son Theophilus!

Between DH and I there's Ronald, James x 2, Wilfred, Veronica, Bessie, Joan and Peggie. Used James for DS's middle name.

My grandparents, born between 1900 and 1920 were: Arthur, Eleanor, Percy and Ivy. There middle names were Edward (may have been Albert George too, but not sure), Amy, William and Ellen.

Most unusual name was a great Aunt called Cyntia (sin-tee-ah) but that was apparently due to a misspelling of Cynthia at the registry office

My maternal gp's were Phyllis Rose Mary and Frederick Gaius. No idea on paternal, dad wasn't really in touch and they died when I was very small

I had a great aunt Louisa as well, my middle name comes from her

Lillian, Hereville (wtf! Never heard of another), Dorothea, Jesse, Thomas, Cecily, Bertram, Lillian (again - popular back then too). Don't know the others. Cool thread! Nice to look back at old names. I actually really quite like Cecily.
