DH and I quite like names that can be shortened to a family nickname. What do you think of these:
Izora (Izzy)
Finnula (Finn or Lula)
Aula (Lula)
Ottalie (Lottie)
Theodora (Thea)

Whoops, Aula should have been Alula.

We had Alethea/Thea on our short list.

Also like Ottilie but wouldn't shorten it.

RayanneGraff · 06/12/2012 22:26

I like Ottalie and Theadora best from that list. Haven't heard Izora before..

Other names with good nick names-
Francesca- frankie
Annabelle- Annie
Penelope- penny
Harriet- Hattie
Josephine- effie
Edith- edie
Rosalie- rosie

Finnula and Ottilie (not with an a) would be nice, as would Thea, otherwise no, they don't do it for me.

Bakingtins · 07/12/2012 13:43

I like Ottalie (but would shorted to Tally or Tilly, woudl assume a Lottie was Charlotte) and Thea, but not keen on Theodora.

badtime · 07/12/2012 17:25

I would use Isadora rather than Izora, and Fionnuala rather than Finnula, which just looks illiterate.

ScaredySquirrel · 07/12/2012 17:57

love Ottilie and Theodora.

forgetmenots · 07/12/2012 18:05

Agree with badtime. Like Thea, too.

AndWhenYouGetThere · 07/12/2012 19:14

Fionnuala (Finn) and Theadora (Thea) are my favourites from your list. I do like Ottilie too, but Lottie doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks ladies. It's funny that the comments have helped me figure out the names I like best, really helpful. Agree with sparkle and bedtime on spellings. Good advice.
