Annie or Clemency

Help! Two weeks to go and just can't decide.

Love Clemency. But too posh? And dd1 also begins with C.

Love Annie too, but worry I'll regret not using Clemency.

Have middle name sorted.

Straw poll and comments please.

I'm another one who doesn't like the sound of Clemency. Also, I'm not a big fan of the 'virtue names' I agree with the poster who suggested Nancy as a compromise between the two names. I think it is less common than Annie as well.

Thank you for the responses so far, particularly the ones that address the question! To the people suggesting Nancy - er, if Nancy was in contention then I would have asked about that too. We are down to a shortlist of the two I mention.

Xmas Shock

How rude.

I think you should pick Clemency Xmas Wink

Clemency, only because I know an Annie and she's a absolute B, perhaps I shouldn't be too honest about it, she's not nice.

Annie is fine, but I also don't like naming children after virtues or attributes. It seems very burdensome. What if she ends up a little tyrant? Clemency does sound nice, but so does Celery, and I wouldn't name a child that!

clemency is sweet, newsreader, kate silverton's baby is called it.
I don't think mulberries is being rude, just expressing her opinion which you do on mumsnet!!!

Thank you Geranium. I only suggested Nancy because it did seem like the percfect mixture between Clemency and Annie. I wasn't trying to coerce the OP either way, her decision obviously People often ask for other suggestions. This isn't an exam where you can lose marks for waffling is it!? Wink

Think some mumsnetters can be very "precious" on lots of threads, some have rounded on me like a pack of hyenas for some well meaning but honest comments that i have made in the past but i know where you are coming from!!

Thank you! I'm having a problem here with smirnoff mojito. I bought a few bottles as christmas presents and I felt compelled to do some quality control checking. So i am actually mojitosoakedmu1berry this evening and in very good humour for it. Mojito will make a good present for everybody I have decided.

Hmmm, how to jinglebell up geranium/ I'll have to have a think!

Really want to know what outcome of this was. These are my two favourite girls names and I was expecting at time this post was done three years ago but don't think this was a user name I ever had or that I posted about this. So either my memory is shot to pieces or you are very similar to me. Expecting again (had boy last time) and these are still my favourite two names.
