What think you of the name Effie (or spelt Effy?)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I really like it as a nickname for Stephanie, but I think that some might find that a bit dated.

I occasionally use it, as my first name is an F and my middle name E.

Parents would call me FE (surname) in a jokey way and the FE became Effie.

I grew up in South Africa. Years ago, condoms used to be called French Letters or Effies for short. Sorry but I can't get away from that.

You probably won't encounter many middle aged South Africans, so you should be ok.

I had a huge doll called Effie when I was a little girl she was called that because she was really heavy and I couldn't say heavy! It stuck! I think it's cute because of that I'd probably use it as a nickname though!

I went to school with an Effie - no ideal if it was her given name or not, but she used to say it was short for 'little fucker' Grin She was a good laugh and it suited her though.

Love it. Surely could also be shift for any name beginning with F?
