Just found out we're having a girl, so excited! I love the name Isobel but my best friend has an Isobel so wondered if there are names in a similar vein. Our cat is called Arabella so have to rule that one out.

Any ideas very welcome.

For some reason Phoebe & Claudia are in the same space as Isobel in my head!

I love the name Isadora - also saw Kerenza the other day. Or how about Caroline or Marina?

stargirl1701 · 30/11/2012 17:10

Isabella.

barapapa · 30/11/2012 17:12

Iseult.... strong Irish connections..

Mu1berries · 30/11/2012 17:27

Christabel - hate the nn christine but Christa is lovely
Annabel
Maribel
Anneliese
Jemima
Rosemary

But if your friend has a bel, I'd steer away from a bel name.

What about Marianne, Clara, Louisa or Anya

Mu1berries · 30/11/2012 17:28

Phoebe and Claudia are both lovely and I know what you mean, I have various names filed together. Phoebe and LYdia.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/11/2012 18:48

I have an Isobel, so I am biased. However names which I think are in a similar vein are:

Harriet
Isolde
Ishbel is just yummy (in fact, I really wish I could have persuaded dp into it) but I agree that it's probably best to avoid a 'Bel' sound.
Elinor
Hester (love love this)
Sylvie
Daisy
Hermione

Thanks for all the lovely name suggestions. Unfortunately we also have friends who have an Isadora, love that name.

I do love Hester and also Freya, thanks for those suggestions resmut and little. I also loved Harper until Mrs Beckham rudely pipped me to the post.

This naming business is much harder than I'd thought.
