Need cool single-syllable middle name to follow Zacharias

My current fave is Beau, but not sure DH will go for it. Want something short and quite funky, but not an abbreviation, to counteract the length/solemnity of Zacharius. Our surname starts with an M and ends in a Y.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated - baby due in a week!

WockComble yes, of course I was joking! but now you have to use Luke - the force will be with him! Grin

Greensleeves has some amazing suggestions! I love Kit, Keir and Chance!

Oh I got it Zacharias Duke....?

LittleDonkin · 29/11/2012 20:48

Duke is fabulous!!!!!

MarshmallowFarm · 29/11/2012 20:55

Apologies if am repeating other suggestions:

Ted (has a Theodore connection too...)
Ralph/Rafe
Eli (pronounced EE-LIE not Ellie! sorry, 2 syllables but goes really well with Zacharius)
Joel
Saul
Tait
Blake

Gus
Zane
Cole
Ted

Love Chase, but I think the 's' ending is too much like the s at the end of Zacharias.

Yes it has to be Kit.
Or maybe Beck.

But not Duke everyone's faithful mutt from their childhood

bigbluebump · 29/11/2012 21:41

Agree that Zacharias Gus for example is too 's'y.

Yes Kit is fab, but a good friend of mine's son is called Kit so I couldn't steal it. In fact she was the one who came up with the name Beau.

Really liking Quinn though. But does it make anyone think of quim, ie a fanny?

I know a little Quinn and have never once thought about a fanny Confused
Lovely name imo

ThePoppyAndTheIvy · 29/11/2012 23:07

Quinn is good, or John maybe?

Finn maybe? IMO something ending with an N would sound best with Zacharias and your last name (which in my head is Murray or Murphy - if it's neither that may change my opinion) Grin.

'Zane' for the ZZ initials? Or Zeus? Zev*?

*Hebrew for 'wolf', apparently.

shoobidoo · 30/11/2012 13:55

I'd avoid middle names ending in s with Zacharias.

I think Quinn is very cool and sounds great with Zacharias. I actually prefer Quinn to Zach (if you're planning to shorten to that).
