'i changed my baby 's name'- work stories please

i am thinking of changing my ten week old 's name. i would like to hear from anyone who has done this. what were people's reactions? how easy to do legally? how did older children cope? did you feel better or worse for doing it? your reasons for doing so. thank you in anticipation.

No experience but i'd assume that with fathers permission it would be fine legally, as thats all you need to change surname.

If you really are sure then i'd change it now while you can before he is old enough to realise. I don't think people would see it as s problem

alternatively, i know someone who's name is john but everyone has called him jack since a baby as his parents had changed their minds, and he works ok with that, though has said its made official things tricky sometimes but it gives him the option to choose between the names, and he doesn't find it a problem as they are similar and jack is like his nickname now

I changed 2 weeks after registering the baby. It was easy peasy, if you are married you can do it by yourself. I just told friends that I changed and all was Ok. My baby is now 2yo and the matter of the name change is long forgotten.
