I absolutely love it!

Cute and yet dignified

clemetteattlee · 23/11/2012 11:48

Beautiful

LegArmpits · 23/11/2012 11:50

Love love love it. DS would've been it had he been a girl. There's a Ben Folds Five song called it too.

sparkle12mar08 · 23/11/2012 12:00

It's perfectly decent, doesn't make me think wtf? and has a fab nn. But you and your daughter will spend your lives saying "No, Emmeline, not Emily"...

ConfusedandBemused · 23/11/2012 12:04

Nice but could be misheard as Emily, probably looks better written down than how it sounds iykwim

pickledparsnip · 23/11/2012 12:07

Pankhurst. Fantastic. Love it.

sparklechops · 23/11/2012 15:45

Loved it, wanted it....DH vetoed it! Love the nickname Emme too.

FivesAndNorks · 23/11/2012 15:46

Gonna make you the biggest star this world has ever seen

Just how much tinfoil will this giant star involve?

vintageviolets · 23/11/2012 15:46

Is it pronounced Emmy-lean?

LegArmpits · 23/11/2012 20:01

I would say to rhyme with line.

Rhubarbgarden · 23/11/2012 21:00

I don't like it. Which is a shame, because Pankhurst is a great role model.

Anonymumous · 23/11/2012 21:49

I love it if it's pronounced as Emma-lynn (like Madeleine or Jacqueline). I don't like the Emma-lean or the Emma-line pronunciations. And I think whichever pronunciation you prefer, you would always end up correcting people.

But if I ever have another daughter, Emmeline will almost certainly be her middle name. Pronounced Emma-lynn. So there! Smile

Bunbaker · 23/11/2012 21:52

Emmaline
Emma, Emmaline
I'm gonna write your name high on that silver screen
Emmaline
Emma, Emmaline
I'm gonna make you the biggest star this world has ever seen

I love it.

AlwaysHoldingOnToStarbug · 23/11/2012 22:03

Love it.

MadameJosephine · 23/11/2012 22:20

Love it, beautiful name and,as others have already pointed out,a fabulous namesake.

forgetmenots · 23/11/2012 22:38

Love it but would have pronunciation problems - worth considering if it would upset you

FivesAndNorks · 24/11/2012 08:21

Bunbaker, do you not think that sounds like a huge arts and crafts project?

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 24/11/2012 09:35

Love it but not the kind of name DH would go for. He think Elizabeth is 'too posh'! :)

HaggisMcNeeps · 24/11/2012 11:24

I know an Emmalene. She was named Emmaline originally but kept getting called Emma-line.

Bunbaker · 24/11/2012 13:09
Confused
FivesAndNorks · 24/11/2012 15:33

every time I hear "I'm gonna make you the biggest star this world has ever seen" I imagine him working on a huge star made of cane and tinfoil to present to Emma-Emmaline

FivesAndNorks · 24/11/2012 15:33

lots of pritt stick involved too

ShowMeTheCoffee · 24/11/2012 17:21

Lovely name. Very strong.

We also wanted the nickname, Emme and named our DD, Emilia with Emmie as a nickname. Beware though - often misheard as Amy or Emily.

I also liked Emmanuel.

Bunbaker · 24/11/2012 17:37

Oh right Grin

MikeLitoris · 24/11/2012 17:48

My dad used to call me Emmaline (names Emma).

Its lovely.
