Pretty name but just makes me think of the character on Neighbours in the 90s

BillyKnowMates · 20/11/2012 20:13

Annalise Hartman played by Kimberley Davies.

Piffpaffpoff · 20/11/2012 20:13

Neighbours here too I'm afraid.

Smile I like it - we had a Dutch family friend with that name and it was a serious contender for our DD.

Quin · 20/11/2012 20:37

This is really helping.

Lots of negative opinions yet it's not putting me off the name at all. This is the first name in while I've managed to still like when others don't so could finally be the one!

I think it's beautiful and it was on my long list.

baskingseals · 20/11/2012 20:43

i think it is an absolutely beautiful name. it is also Anne Frank's full name.

for middle names what about

Joy

Sophie

Pearl

sparkle12mar08 · 20/11/2012 21:25

I like Liss or Lissa as a nn.

AlwaysHoldingOnToStarbug · 20/11/2012 21:39

I think it's a beautiful name, I've always loved it.

CrapBag · 20/11/2012 21:41

Nice name and a bit different but not in a made up way.

Annaliese Rose?

CharlieBoo · 20/11/2012 22:44

I think of neighbours too I'm afraid

Quin · 21/11/2012 22:28

I like Pearl!

I love it.

DD is Annie. She wishes she had Annaliese for her 'long name.' (She doesn't have a 'long name' Blush)

May let her add it by deed poll when she's older!

BoerWarKids · 21/11/2012 22:58

Love, love, love it! Grin

My only hesitation would be having to spell it all the time (I have a commonly misspelt name Wink)

I think of Anne Frank when I hear it, not Neighbours.

BoerWarKids · 21/11/2012 23:00

With the Neighbours thing, that reference will die out as people become too young to remember the Annalise era.

Anne Frank, otoh, is timeless and her memory lives on.

Quin · 22/11/2012 08:01

Has anyone under 30 heard of that neighbours charcter? I could be wrong with my dates just trying to remember my age when she was on the show!

I think of Anne Frank too.

It's seems to be quite tricky to find a middle name that flows well though.

I love it - lots of different and pretty nns too.

Rose is a nice middle name for it, Joy sounds good too.

B1ueberryS0rbet · 22/11/2012 12:25

Lovely. It's pretty, but a good strong name too. I would just use Anneliese.

Anneliese Eve
Anneliese Joy
Anneliese Adele

RosannaBanana · 22/11/2012 12:44

I'm under 30 and I'm afraid my very first thought was Neighbours...

Ummofumbridge · 22/11/2012 18:16

I nearly used it for dd4 but just wasn't quite sure enough about it. I really love it but I suppose was a bit concerned it was too faffy and frilly? Not sure.
It's beautiful.

notallytuts · 22/11/2012 19:09

i love it. there are a few spelling variations which could throw people, if that bothers you?

I also love Anneli, shorter but similar

mummybare · 22/11/2012 19:18

I also thought of Neighbours, but her peers won't have a clue about that reference so I wouldn't worry about it too much. I do think it's a beautiful name and love all the nicknames too: Anna, Anne, Annie, Liss, Lisa, Lissa, Lissie...

LynetteScavo · 22/11/2012 19:25

Now, I also think of Neighours first and foremost [old gimmer emotican]

But I love it.

I have loved it since my mum read me the story about Lottie and Lisa, (the story about separated twins , which was then made into Parent Trap) - anyway Lisa's full name was Anneliese. (Or a similar spelling).

Personally I would spell it Annaliese, so it could be shorted to Anna more easily.

I thought it was German, rather than an Americanised name.

Frikadellen · 22/11/2012 19:35

I think of a utterly lovely friend I have called it and then I take it a bit further and think of my aunt who is Annelise.

Not on I adore not one I hate its a pretty name.
