Does it matter if middle name goes with first name?

Dh has agreed we can use my favourite name, which he vetoed as a first name, in the middle slot. I'm happy with that compromise. It doesn't scan though. Together they even sound a bit odd as they end with the same sound though the middle name is an extra syllable so they don't rhyme exactly. It rhymes in the way, say, Anna Elena would.

I don't care. I think middle names are hardly ever said out loud together.

But these threads are full of people looking for middle names that go, so I wondered if it is just me that thinks this doesn't matter, and if I am wrong and should revise our names?

I don't think it matters. If it was first name and surname it would, but not middle name.

my dd's middle name doesnt go with her first name, it was more important to me to name her after someone special, we figured it didnt matter as people donnt really use your middle name anyway

My daughters middle names don't go with their first names, well I don't think, certainly not the youngest but I always use family names as middle names so I don't really care. My eldest is 7 and I can honestly say her middle name has never been said out loud once not even when she's being scolded

It matters a bit yes. Not flowing well doesn't matter that much,rhyming on the other hand,I think does.

My first name and middle name sound hideous together when spoken out loud, but the only laughs I get are in reaction to the middle name (so awfully 70s) rather than the Edward Woodwardness of it.

I'd be more cautious about the initials: Tamara India Tatershall might be posh, but she sounds like a right tit!

It mattered to me with ds. We chose his family middle name and then looked for first names that would work with it and our surname.

With dd (dc1) I didn't think it through quite so much and so her first name ends in a vowel and her middle name starts with a vowel. When you say them together it is hard not to put a "r" sound in front of her middle name. Still love both names but I wasn't going to do th same thing second time round.
