Do you prefer Abebi or Abeje?

We really want a name that is elegant and works well for a baby as well as an adult. I?m veering towards Abebi but OH says that he can?t picture a lawyer Abebi! What do you think?

Well, you need to find a name to suit a person, not a job. Also, lawyers go by their surnames- she would be MsHabikaMumof1 (well, you know what I mean). I'd be hesitant about using Abeje if it said Ab-ay, as people might think it was a trying-to-be-trendy spelling of Abby. I like both names!

I really like Abeje and love the meaning behind it too.

What does Abeje mean?

It means "asked for".
