My mother is convinced this is the perfect name. I am not so keen. Any opinions??

Well if you're not keen it's irrelevant what your Mum thinks.

Cross it off the list.

JammySplodger · 01/11/2012 08:53

Agreed. You'd be using it on a daily basis, your child your choice.

Badgerina · 01/11/2012 09:34

Will this be your mum's baby? If not, it's irrelevant Grin

FWIW I like it Smile

Well, your mother should get to choose the name for her own baby. You might not like the name but you will have to get used to it. When you have a baby then you can choose whatever name you want and she will have to tolerate it.

I know a girl called Indigo and I always think its more a boy's name.

I love it, but don't let your mum name your baby. She has already named her own, she can't name everyone else's as well!

manicinsomniac · 02/11/2012 09:38

I like it but yeah, as everyone else said, if you're not keen don't choose it!

SecondhandRose · 02/11/2012 09:53

Shortens to Indi, do you like that or Go Go?

yellowsubmarine53 · 02/11/2012 09:54

Isn't there a something about 'indigo children'?

Oh, yes, it's here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo_children

I kinda like it (and know one) but wouldn't use it for this reason and others.

Violet? Viola? Scarlet? Rose? Clementine? Saffron? Jade? if you're keen for a rainbow theme?

FireOverBabylon · 02/11/2012 10:06

I know a little Indigo and it really suits her. However it was the parents choice and took them 3 weeks to get there and her mother hated it

If you aren't convinced, then ignore MIL, no-one else should be attempting to name your child. If baby isn't here yet, just saying you're waiting to see what she looks like. I know loads of babies who didn't look like the name picked out for them, so ended up with something else.

If it's your mother's 'perfect name' why aren't you called that?
