I'm 39+2 and we've agreed a boy's name but can't quite get there with a girl's name - there just seem to be too many that we both like. We think our final four names are, in no particular order:

Lucy
Daisy
Beatrice (nn Bea)
Flora

We already have a daughter called Matilda.

What do you reckon? Or which of the four would you most like to be called yourself? I'm hoping that we'll get all defensive over one of the names now and that will answer our question... Smile

Many thanks!

Lucy is lovely and I don't think it will date, as it has always been a classic.

I like Daisy but DD says it is a 'cow's name'.

Beatrice is nice too, but is very popular just now, if having a few in the same class would bother you.

Flora Beatrice is lovely.

mummybare · 02/11/2012 08:59

I agree that Lucy and Beatrice are really lovely. The other two are nice, just not AS nice.

Congratulations on the impending arrival!

All lovely.

I totally disagreeb that Lucy will date dreadfully. It's a classic name which has been around for generations and crosses generations with ease.

We have a Beatrice and expecting DC2, before bed last night DH suggested Matilda. I think they sound fab as sister names.

Thanks everyone - we found the comments very helpful. Turned out to be rather academic in the end, as our little Edward arrived yesterday Smile

Will store away Lucy and Beatrice for next time...

pixiestix · 04/11/2012 13:51

Congratulations! Smile

I was going to go for either Lucy or Beatrice but now I'm not sure they would suit your little boy after all. Wink
