Girls name help

Hi there

We found out yesterday that we are expecting a girl after 3 boys. Totally shocked & unexpected and we have never even looked at girls names before. I had a look in my name book last night and came up with a list but DH has said he doesn't like any of them!!!

Boys are Finn, Milo & Kit. Names I suggested but which have been vetoed are Dora, Mabel, Betsy, Violet, Ottilie & Coco.

I think he would go for Edie but is it really popular now? I think he likes Clemmy but it kind of reminds me of Flemmy - am I being stupid?!

I would love any suggestions. You would have thought it would be easy choosing a first girls name but it's a whole new world to me! Thanks in advance.

Thank you for such lovely suggestions.

I think my current contender (although this seems to change daily!) is Iris. I think it works with my boys names & I like that it doesn't seem as popular as other names (I know a lot of Children but don't know one called Iris)

I dont understand why you would want to give her a name like Violet then nickname her Letty, why not just call her Letty!

iamlosingit I know and it's weird because we deliberately have our boys names that couldn't be shortened & the names in my OP are their birth cert names but with a girl I like the idea of a name with nicknames. Having said that Iris isn't one of those!!

How about Florence (Florrie) ....

Dramajustfollowsme · 03/11/2012 20:15

Edie is sweet. Don't like Clemmie.

How about Maeve? Naomi? Adele?

Or as you seem to be liking 'cutesy' nicknames, how about Miranda or Marianne, nn Mimi?
