Does it work into adulthood? What sort of woman is a Frankie?

Personally Ilove it, but couldn't you call her Frances and allow her to lengthen it if she wishes?

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/10/2012 11:53

I think Frankie from The Saturdays. So um...pretty with great abs?

I do prefer Frankie as a nickname though. Frances/Francesca any good to you?

racingheart · 25/10/2012 12:28

Yes sorry - Frances, with Frankie as a nickname.
Glad you like it.

Frankie is fab as a nn but definitely not as the full name. Francesca is beautiful or Frances, which then gives your DD lots of options throughout her life.

PropositionJoe · 25/10/2012 12:34

I like Frances. And it also offers Fran as a nn if she chooses.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 25/10/2012 12:37

i like it and am thinking of francesca for dc3 if its a girl. not long til we find out :)

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/10/2012 12:49

OP - Frankie is a great nickname for Frances. I don't think there would be any issues in adulthood,on most official documents she would probably go by Frances and then people she knows/works with would call her Frankie.

squoosh · 25/10/2012 14:41

Really love it.

2cats2many · 25/10/2012 14:44

I love Frances. I really wanted it for my DD but was over ruled.

I've known several wnderful Frans and Fannys (no sniggering please) in my time. Frankie makes me think oif that pop star, but she'll always have the option to call herself whatever she wants if you call her Frances.

NadiaWadia · 25/10/2012 17:05

Francesca is beautiful, but Frances is dull.

VerityClinch · 25/10/2012 17:06

My DD is Francesca, but she is Chessie for short.

squoosh · 25/10/2012 17:08

Francesca is nice, but to me Frances is more elegant.

thegreylady · 25/10/2012 18:19

Francesca is gorgeous.I know a little girl with Frankie as a middle name.

GRW · 25/10/2012 19:04

I really like Frances but dislike Francesca. Frankie is a good nickname, and would work for an adult.

HoratiaWinwood · 25/10/2012 19:07

I know a Francesca who is Frankie - but she is three.

I knew a Francesca who was Checky - she is now 21.

All the adult Francescas I know are now Fran, and the Frances is Fi.

peachypips · 25/10/2012 19:08

Love Frankie. There is a girl at school called it and it really stands out but not in a trying-too-hard way...

Dinglebert · 25/10/2012 19:47

Love it, with Francesca as a full name.

Natnat29 · 25/10/2012 20:11

Love it agree with others that Frances as the full name would be gorge

burcham12 · 27/10/2012 15:04

I knew a Frankie - her given name was Francine (pr France-ine) . Much prefer that to either Frances or Francesca.

BananaBubbles · 27/10/2012 16:16

No,no and a thousand times no. It's a hideous, ugly, harsh sounding name. It's dreadful enough on a boy,but even worse on a girl. I cannot imagine looking at a lovely new born and calling her or him 'Frankie'.

Frances and Francesca are very nice though.

Alisvolatpropiis · 27/10/2012 18:13

Don't hold back Bananabubbles,say what you mean...lol!
