I think we're down to a shortlist of two girls names - Eliza or Lydia, 2 syllable surname. Hubby's favourite is Eliza but I'm concerned that it's getting too popular / trendy and although Lydia is higher up the charts, it feels slightly more classic to me.

We're at a bit of a standoff on this at the moment, so please let me know your preference between the two!

Thanking you.

I prefer Eliza but love Lydia too. Whichever you go with is beautiful.

Both are nice, but I prefer Lydia. Which goes best with your surname?

I LOVE Eliza, Lydia is OK but just hasn't got quite the same feel. Choose Eliza!

Both names are rising in popularity but I doubt either will ever trouble the top 20 so I wouldn't worry about being too popular.

Lydia is much nicer, it's a classic Biblical name.

Eliza is too nicknamey and faddy.

Love them both.

Why not go for Elizabeth and use Eliza as the nn?

If you must go for Eliza, have Elizabeth as full name.

I prefer Eliza, Lydia is too Old Lady for me, but not in a good way.

Prefer Lydia.
