I did a thread on here a while ago, apart from the judy blume(i didnt know who it was until i did the threadHmm) and the simpsons link,

Is it really that bad?

I really love it, it feels right. Peoples comments are putting me off when i say what im calling himSad

It's my friend's sur name and she and her sons seem to cope (she's never mentioned hating the name anyway)

Ralph has the Judy Blume taint for me, but as others say that was looong ago.

I love love love it. I think it's a lovely name. I would use it myself if I could pronounce the letter R properly (I can see myself in ten years time shouting Walf without quite the impact I'd be hoping for).

Dare I say it - my gorgeous little 3 yo is a Ralph and his pet name is RaRa. I bloody loves it and so does everyone around here, think it depends on location more than anything.
We live in a nice part of the world where Ralph is considered very cool and certainly deosnt mean sickness or his winky lol.
Go for it!!

I know a 6 yo Ralph (pronounced Rafe). It really suits him- I can't think of him being anything else.

It's a great name. Literally had not a clue about Judy Blume reference. My name is Nancy and that is slang for a camp gay man - people tend not to think I am a camp gay man.

If you love it and it feels right, please use it. I promise you in this day and age there will be far more bizzare names than that. He'll be dashing and fabulous with a name like that! Babies become whatever they're called anyway. Smile

Really, absolutely no children these days read any Judy Blume (unless their parents still have their childhood copies) - they're barely findable in bookshops - so no problem there.

Ralph is a lovely name, whether it's pronounced Ral-ph or Rafe.
I have never heard of it being associated with vomiting either.
