Is Maud too miserable?

My DH loves it, and I'm drawn to it, but not sure if it's too 'down' as a name? I can't say it with a happy voice iyswim, but on the other hand I think it's different and classy. I have an Imogen already and think they go nicely together. Thoughts?

It sounds too much like mold and brings to mind a very smoggy and dingey part of east London. Sorry, you did ask!

I love Maude.

But, for some reason, I do think it would suit a dog with droopy jowls.

I have grown to love the name, that's why I haven't name-changed for quite some time.

I prefer Maud with the 'e' on the end..somehow seems more feminine. But Maeve and Imogen go really well together. Beautiful.

I had an auntie maud, she would have been born around 1910. It wasn't her real name, but a family nickname. She was a sandwich short of a picnic and had a fantastic moustache Grin

There was a Maud in my family around the turn of the century, I remember my gran showing me a photo of a group of women and pointing to the most miserable stuffy looking one and saying "and that's Aunt Maud...."

So the name will always make me think of miserable old Great Great Aunt Maud - I also imagine that anyone with the name only appears in black and white!

I love it! It's DD's middle name Smile

I don't like it without the e, but with the e, I do.
