What do you think of this name for a girl? Is the nickname Alex inevitable? Many thanks

I like it. Alex is nice too.

JennaMoroney · 09/10/2012 23:46

it's a mouthful. Alex is too masculine and unisex, lexie is too loo la la, sandra too dated. just not very nice really.

My sister is an Alexandra. My family always call her Alexandra but her DP, friends, workmates, etc. all call her Alex (her choice).

Lexilicious · 10/10/2012 10:17

I am one, don't really bother with it as a full name. Both my NNs have been mentioned, but when a baby my brother called me Dando/Danda. Outing myself, but DH calls me The Mighty Lex sometimes. I think I need a NC now...!

Great name, and so many nick names to choose from too. Go for it Smile

Lovely!

My psychic powers tell me Alexandra will be the name Kate and William choose for their first baby if it's a girl.

JennaMoroney · 10/10/2012 10:38

yeah you could be right. That or Caroline. SOrt of like Carol but more royal.

TurtlenamedMack · 10/10/2012 20:26

Love it. Would have used it for DD if we hadn't already called DS Alexander. I lack imagination. Truly a brilliant name.

schmalex · 10/10/2012 20:32

I'm an Alexandra, always get called Alex (despite trying to insist on Alexandra for a while). I never used to like it when I was little, but as an adult I love it.

Wish I'd thought of calling myself Sasha though. Maybe I should reinvent myself!

Go for it but ensure you choose a female sounding shortening if you do... something like Alexa is nice or Lexie.

Alex isnt great IMO
