We had a long list of girls names we liked but very few boys - sod's law we're having a boy! Here's what we like so far:

Alexander (can't have as too many in the family)
George (ditto)
Samuel (worried about Sammy as a nn)
Daniel (ditto)
Henry (surname begins with H and don't want to spend the next 20 years saying "your name is Harry not 'Arry)

We like traditional, rural names. Anyone got any great suggestions for us?

Thanks

FWIW Samuel doesn't seem to get shortened to Sammy these days - the ones I know are all known as Sam.

Other names I think of as "traditional, rural" would be

Arthur
Giles
Peter
Richard

Thanks for the great ideas. I love giles from the above lists but as we're farmers dh thinks its a little obvious!!

Will go through the lists with dh but Albert, Joshua, Hugh and frank stand oh for me.

It's just really helpful to get other ideas as our minds go blank all the time!!
