Highly unlikely, since I was 13 at the time, but if I had, I have just discovered the beautiful 80s names my child would have been saddled with, listed in my diary for the year.Just in case they help anyone still searching for that ultimate name, I share them with you now.

Ah, little Charlene Sandra Dawn and Shane Jody Scott. It was not to be.

I wanted a Gary, Ricky, Justin, Jason or Jamie. Or Calvin. Or possibly Matt after Matt Goss .

My daughter could only ever have been Charlene....

Killashandra reminds me of a very non-PC Republican song called 'Come out ye black and tans' about the IRA....and 'the green and lovely lanes of Killashandra' lol

I remember having a list of names too when I was about 12 or 13. Unfortunately (or not, it was very cringy) one of my kids ripped my old diary up so I can't remember all the names.

There was Ashley for a boy and Charlotta for a girl! I have no girls anyway and none of my sons are called Ashley!

I was also 13 in 1988. My top names were Jack & Anna. Jack has been my number one boys name since I was 4 and my grandpa Jack died.

Fast forward to today, I have a 15 year old Jack but DD is not called Anna .

I was born in 89 and know a few Scotts, many many James-es ( just counted 6 in immediate family/friends) and a Jody.

I had my baby names fixed in the early 1980s: Jacob and Lily. Not bad at all. Sadly, the rest of the world cottoned on and by the time I finally had my dd, 20 years later, I had to think of something else (which I did, though the rest of the world caught up with that too )
