I'm currently expecting and struggling to come up with boys names both me and me and DH like! We want something strong and masculline. We both like Truman but wonder if people won't like it! Really value your opinions and any other boys name suggestions!

I think surname type names sound strong and masculine! I don't know why it bothers you so much...

I think Sebastian sounds a bit drippy! Sorry I'm a tough crowd!

How about Rex? DH said it's a dog's name but I like it!

P.S I'm not American!

Rex is cool. I'm all for pets names Grin

AKissIsNotAContract · 30/09/2012 10:05

I agree Sebastian is drippy. I also love Rex. Rex Truman Jeffrey sounds great as does Rex Hunter Jeffrey.

flowerygirl · 30/09/2012 10:40

They both sound great! My husband says no to Rex though :(

I really like Scott but do you think it's boring?

Scott Geoffrey is nice. I also like Conrad Geoffrey.

nooka · 01/10/2012 15:54

I think Scott would work fine with Jeffrey, and is relatively unusual now.

Personally I don't think surnames sounds particularly masculine, after all girls/women have then too.

amck5700 · 01/10/2012 16:14

Scott is nice. or how about

Austin
Innes
Harris
Keir/Ciar
Kerr
Miles
Alex

amck5700 · 01/10/2012 16:15

or Gregor/Greg

AKissIsNotAContract · 01/10/2012 17:20

I'd go back to Truman or Hunter if I were you. Scott is boring and sounds like an'80's Kevin-type name.

SuperB0F · 01/10/2012 17:24

I like Conrad, but I'm not keen on names that sound like surnames really.

mathanxiety · 02/10/2012 17:40

Max
Dylan
Owen
Euan
Declan
Lochlan
Logan
Wyatt
Spencer
Oscar
Calvin
Emmett
Pierce
Casper
Isaac
Ryan
I really like Austin ^^ -- Austin Jeffrey has a nice ring to it.

I agree with you about Sebastian and I don't like Rex. I like Conrad. Prefer Truman by a long shot over Hunter.

Thanks for all the suggestions. How about Holden?

Love Ewan but unfortunately there's already one in the family and I have a rule, no names already in the family!

OP posts:
SuperB0F · 02/10/2012 18:37

Holden is nice, yes. Have you read Catcher In The Rye?

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 02/10/2012 18:52

First things that Truman puts in my head; The man who dropped the atomic bomb on Japan. Or Jim Carey.

Neither are associations I'd been keen on.

mathanxiety · 02/10/2012 19:14

Holden is nice.

flowerygirl · 03/10/2012 16:16

Haha yes, I just finished reading Catcher in the Rye!

Atomic bomb?! Good grief that is not a positive connotation!

Still not found the right name, watching programme credits very closely for ideas!

Hal Jeffrey?

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 04/10/2012 20:58

I really like the name do it!
