Struggling for girls names

Please can I have some ideas?! I'm having a little girl and I like unusual names (outside the top 100) that are quite pretty and girly.

The only ones on our list (but I'm not sure either is quite right are):

Delphi (have Greek relatives so wouldn't be too strange although people might think its too unusual?
Lucia (is this pretty and girly or just posh?)

Thanks for any suggestions :)

I like both of those.

I met a Valerie and a Gloria yesterday.

Few ideas:

Anita
Ursula
Esme
Libby
Esther
Felicity
Thea
Tahlia
Verity
Alicia/Alissa

Lucia is nice, don't think of it as posh, not sure about Delphi, more of a place name than a persons name imo.

jkklpu · 27/09/2012 14:09

following on from Verity, some of the other virtue names are pretty, eg Constance, Faith, Hope

Alltheflowers · 27/09/2012 14:13

Thanks for the ideas (my actual name is in one of your lists though so can't have two of us lol!).

What about Liberty and Libby for short. Or is that a bit footballers wife?

I like Thea but i have a problem with the 'th' sound for some reason. Esme is cute but our friend's baby is called that.

Hope is nice. But footballers wife ish again? Or too popular?

I do quite like it though

Orlena
Dahlia
Miriam

I like Liberty/Libby

Alltheflowers · 27/09/2012 14:22

Hmm I like Dahlia. But I don't love it :(

I like Libby as a short form of Elizabeth. I think Liberty is a bit naff (sorry!).

Maybe Delphine instead of Delphi?

Lucia is nice... the only thing that would put me off is that variety of pronunciations you might get (e.g. Loo-see-ah, Loose-ee-ah, Loosh-ah).

Otherwise...
Julia/Juliana
Miranda
Nancy
Melissa?

YouMayLogOut · 27/09/2012 14:58

Lucia and Liberty/Libby are both very nice :)

If you like L names then how about Lucy, Larissa, Louisa, Laura, Leonora, Lydia?

Or what about Coralie, Aster, Xanthe, Zara, Jasmine, Aurora, Elspeth, Hermione, Adele, Ivy, Jennifer, Juliet, Miriam, Miranda, Estella?

Psammead · 27/09/2012 16:05

We have a Lucia :)

Other names on my list are

Penelope
Felicity
Genevieve
Tabitha
Jemima
Josephine.

amck5700 · 27/09/2012 16:06

Blythe?

Psammead · 27/09/2012 16:11

Oh, and Francesca and Dorothea too.

Rutherford · 27/09/2012 16:22

I like Liberty, it's not 'footballers wife' at all but it is Victoria Beckham's niece...don't think many people would make that association though Blush

Autumn?
Elena?
Serena?
Charlotte?
Evangeline?
Tahlia?

airedailleurs · 27/09/2012 16:27

how about Delphine?

Thanks everyone. There are some great suggestions but I still come back to Lucia. Just not sure it's very 'me' - I like pretty girly names. Maybe I'm beyond help!

I think Thea and Thalia are my favourites from all the suggestions.....but they would be no 3 and 4 on the list, not top.

I like Lucia. I also like Lucille and Lucidia. I think they're pretty. Not posh or footballers wifey.
