Girls name to go with Florence

I'm expecting DD2 in a few weeks and DP and I are at loggerheads with names. Our DD is called Florence and our surname is pretty ordinary/boring beginning with R.

Names I like are Clementine and Alice. Florence was one of mine. DP likes Mia, Holly, Brie, Ivy, Tallulah, Alex. I prefer names which are longer and with a bit of 'backbone', he likes short names.

Has anyone got any names you think we may both like? Any inspiration would be appreciated.

Alice is lovely with Florence as is Esme, Harriet, Ottilie and Kitty.

From your dh's list Holly and Mia are nice but I don't like the rest.

How about Alexandra if DH likes Alex then you'd get a name with backbone and he could call her Alex for short?

I think Imogen goes very well with Florence too.

I love Clementine, think its a lovely name and goes really well with Florence which I , love! DS was a possible Florence (if he'd been a girl). Other possibilities Matilda (Tilly for short) or Elsbeth-those are some names I like anyway,Grin also love Flora but bit too close to Florence.

I think Clemetine and Tallulah are lovely!

Thank you for your replies, quite a few of those names have been snapped up by friends and family. Mines in there too! I kind of want something that will be a bit different, not that Florence is, there's quite a few around now aren't there.

If it were a boy we'd go for The Machine, somehow doesn't suit a girl Grin

I have an old BF called Alex so it rules it out for me, would be too strange. Thank god we're not having a boy, half the flippin names would be out using that rule!

I love Clementine too, I'm half considering Ivy Clementine, as I find Ivy the least offensive of his choices. Then just sneaking Clementine in as much as possible.

Who'd have thought it would be so difficult to agree!
