Max and Toby?

I like short names with one or two syllables. I like the name Zoe a lot other ideas are Cleo, Juno and Xanthe but think these might be a bit too unusual?

Ideas would be very welcome, thanks.

I like lots of the suggestion thanks, especially Robyn but thats fil name (robin) also like Cara and seren.

I'd prefer a name that doesn't end in an "y" sound as it would seem rather similar to Toby.

Thought of Fern today any thoughts? I quite like it!

IHeartKingThistle · 15/09/2012 19:01

I really like Fern.

tiredteddy · 15/09/2012 19:07

Ooh thanks iheartkingthistle (love the name) I'm really quite taken with it. It sounds simple and strong and goes well with the boys names I think.

I know a Toby with a sister Madeleine. All the others I know seem to have borthers.

I like Zoe. Less keen on Fern but it goes well with Toby and Max I think.

Avoiding y endings, how about Toby, Max and ...

Prefer to stick with just one or at a push two syllables.

Anyone else got an opinion on Fern?

Rose
Cora
Lois
Cleo
Daisy

Fern is nice too :)

tiredteddy · 17/09/2012 11:31

Ooh haymax you have good ideas!

DH loves daisy but not sure about the "y" ending. Both of us like Cleo. We know a Cora, a Rose and a Lois but all lovely names.

I personally find Fern a bit awkward to say but it's a nice name - Wren is along the same lines.

Pasiphae · 17/09/2012 12:29

I like Fern a lot, I like the sound and style with Toby and Max.

How about:
Hebe, Edith, Greta, Milla, Alba, Delphi, Cerise, Celia, Clara, Esther, Sybil, Gaia, Harriet?

Harriet
Lucy

tiredteddy · 17/09/2012 12:39

Thanks again.

Think I might have my heart set on Fern now so next us to think of a middle name! If using Zoe I was goi g to use Frances after my mum but now not sure that goes with Fern? Any ideas welcome...

amck5700 · 17/09/2012 12:41

Fern Zoe

HayMax · 17/09/2012 19:10

Glad you liked the names!
Middle name for Fern -

Fern Elizabeth
Fern Josephine
Fern Beatrice
Fern Gwendolyn

Think long elegant fairly traditional names work best with Fern, but it also depends on the length/ sound of your surname.

HayMax · 17/09/2012 19:11

Think Fern Frances sounds nice too! Or you could break it up with another middle name...

tiredteddy · 17/09/2012 19:20

Thanks again haymax short two syllable surname beginning with a D. I was just thinking of maybe my grannies name as that could work as its longer and more traditional. Fern Marion what do you think?

OP posts:
HayMax · 17/09/2012 19:38

I think Fern Marion is lovely, would work with your surname by the sound of it and I think using a family name for a middle name is always a good idea :)
