Which do you prefer and why? Thank you, and any suggestions of similar names gratefully received.

Love Bridget, was Ds's name if he'd been a DD.

They are all quite hard names, but I like Iris, not the other too. I went to college with a biatch called Erica. Bridget is to Bridget Jones, very middle class, and it feels like a old ladies name.

Irene, I know a couple of Irenes and they both dont like thier names.

Erica, because it's not trendy and it was my grandmother's name.

Iris is beautiful but popular. Think it's having a 'moment' right now.

Bridget I am neutral on.

Iris, by far. How about Irina? Or Eibhlis?

I am so old that Erica makes me think of Erica Roe(streaker)

Thank you for the feedback. I think I have always preferred Iris out of the three but Emphaticmaybe has just articulated why I think I'm hesitating. Is it the next Lily?

I wonder if I'm just ahead of the curve and in 5 years it'll be top ten... I know not the end of the world but I do want to stay out of the top 100 if possible (Iris number 147 in the last stats)

I am considering Iris which I think is beautiful. I think it will gain in popularity but would be very surprised if it ended up top ten. I think it's more of an acquired taste than Ava, Lily, Amelia etc so unlikely to megaboom. Unless several celebs have an Iris in the next few years I guess!

I hate Bridget, and it's my name. It rhymes with midget or frigid, depending on the age of the tormentors.

Erica has personality. as does Bridget. they are both strong names. iris is insiped and they are everywhere.

Erica seems very 70s to me. Iris is getting very popular and it's a name I associate with the Iris Robinson debacle.

Some people picture this when they hear the name but I like to think that this woman is a more modern version of the name.

Bridget is my choice for a DD, and I assumed no-one would like it, so I am pleased that lots do (and clearly I'm blocking out those that don't!).
I love Iris, also Ivy, Viola, Greta and Maeve which I think are similar in feel to your choices.

I have a 5 year-old Iris so I love it! I know of one other Iris. Didn't realise it was becoming so popular :)
