So I'm back on to Eloise as a possible name if imminent DC2 is a girl.
DH likes Elizabeth - I do too but worry a little about lack f originality as its the same name as close family member.

Anyway, I was wndering if Elizabeth would work as a mn for Eloise?
I think it might work but am doubting myself a great deal at the moment...!?!

Thoughts from the wise and opinionated...?

Too much "el" and s/z to have both names together.

PuffPants · 09/09/2012 19:21

How often do you envisage saying her whole name? No-one but you and her will ever really think about her middle name. She will go through life with most of her friends and colleagues not even knowing what it is, let alone caring about how many 'l's there are Smile

They are nice together, it rolls off the tongue.

Badgerina · 09/09/2012 20:19

I don't think they sound good together. Too similar.

Thanks so much! Comments much appreciated!

Am reluctant to go with 3 names + surname so one of these names will probably have to go....really wish I could come up with something I am completely in love with...and that's before DH even has a say...!

Oh god....back to drawing board....

I quite like Eloise Elizabeth...

If you both like Elizabeth, go with it. One of the best things about that name is the endless list of lovely nicknames that go with it - there is no reason at all why your daughter should get called by the same name as the close family member!

SingingSands · 09/09/2012 22:21

I love it. I think it sounds very elegant Smile

(and that wasn't a pun on the "el" sound either!)

I love Eloise Elizabeth! I think it sounds gorgeous!

cheesesarnie · 09/09/2012 22:46

I think it sounds lovely!

Eloise is a beautiful name! I think Eloise and Elizabeth sound lovely together too.

Oh goodness...thank you for some very lovely replies! :-)
Cheered me up when I was just thinking that I may have to just have to call DC2 'baby'...

Will canvas DH who will undoubtedly put a spanner in the works have his own opinion...

I like it! We're considering two 'EL' names aswell...Eleanor Elizabeth. Your choice flows much better than ours, though! Smile
