I'm happily expecting DD2 and grappling with names. I like feminine, elegant and reasonably unusual (but not made up) names and I've come up with this short list. Any thoughts?? Or other ideas?

Evangeline
Vivienne
Audrey
Esther
Rosalind
Evelina
Miriam

LOVE Rosalind from your list. And Vivienne is nice too.

Eliane and Evangeline is quite a mouthful together. Eliane and Rosalind is easier to say.

Evangeline and Rosalind are two of my all-time favourite names, but agree with Silk that Eliane and Rosalind 'flow' better together.

ggirl · 08/09/2012 19:16

thought you'd misspelled elaine

MollFlounders · 08/09/2012 19:40

Thanks GOLDBoobs, Silk and Orange- that's helpful feedback. One of the things that makes me hesitate on Rosalind is nicknames. With apologies to any out there, I don't like "Roz". But I guess you'd get Rosie instead which, while v popular, is fine

I would go for Evangeline.

I don't think it's too much of a mouthfull//

Eliana and Evangeline. Lovely. Smile

I think Rosalind is a bit "dumpy" compared to Eliana.

Esther and Miriam are nice, and safe.

TudorJess · 08/09/2012 21:04

I like Esther, Rosalind, Evelina and Miriam.

MollFlounders · 08/09/2012 22:23

Oh thanks Lynette- I'm glad someone likes Evangeline as it has been on my mind for weeks now as my number one. Thanks TudorJess for your thoughts too

My niece is an Evangeline but is always called Evie - and there are a lot of those around. All your other choices are a little more unusual - Audrey makes me think Hepburn, so lovely, but I think I would choose Miriam out of that list.

MollFlounders · 09/09/2012 11:11

Thanks sausage. My other thought is Beatrice. Any views?

Beatrice is lovely too.

Is it actually Elaine?
