DD3 is due soon and I'm really finding it hard to choose a name that I love. I thought that you could all perhaps give me some inspiration.
At the moment I like Claudia, Poppy, Eloise, Elodie, Harriet and Elizabeth. What do you think of these and do you have any other suggestions?

I like Elizabeth, Claudia and Harriet in your list. Anna is my favourite along with Charlotte

joanofarchitrave · 05/09/2012 20:39

I like all those although I think Elodie is going to be very 'now' if that bothers you.

The meaning of Claudia (disabled, lame, from the Latin claudus) would unfortunately put me off.

I like Eloise the best.

Ariadne
Too bad it doesn't go with our surname - and we only have a DS.

Startailoforangeandgold · 06/09/2012 15:29

Rebecca/Becky

Not allowed, slightly mad ex girlfriend of DHs

Love Beth. But not mad on Bethan, Bethany and Elizabeth would become lizzy I'm sure.

Claudia- Like
Poppy- I'm not sure, it's fine for a child, but it's not an adult name IMHO
Eloise- Like
Elodie- Like, but prefer Melody
Harriet- Love it, and also has many potential nicknames
Elizabeth- It's my name, and I only like it becuase I can shorten it (to Lizzie or Liz)

purpleloosestrife · 07/09/2012 22:52

claudia - love (if we have another DC this would be on the "list"!.....)
Poppy - lovely - but very popular
Eloise - not for me
Elodie- Like the name very much, but don't think I'd actually use it...
Harriet -Really like this name too, but wouldn't use as know too many

My next dd will be called Elinor.
Or possibly Helen.

getmeoutofthismadhouse · 10/09/2012 00:03

I love Poppy but I do wonder with the flower names how versatile they are for in later life !
I like Amelie atm , similar to Emily with a twist !

Lannie33 · 10/09/2012 03:29

Elodie is my fave, then Elizabeth. Eloise is OK, not keen on the other but nothing wrong with them (don't like the meaning of Claudia though-or the sound actually).
Other suggestions:
Eleanor
Vivian/Vivienne
Melanie/Melania

xmasevebundle · 11/09/2012 01:49

saskia87 · 11/09/2012 09:18

Claudia - a bit pretentious
Poppy - ok, bit babyish
Eloise - pretty
Elodie - pretty
Harriet - ugly
Elizabeth - dull, hate Liz/Lizzie

Cleo
Amélie
