Valentine - for a girl?

I had wanted to call DS Valentine, as DH and I had our first date on Valentines Day and I just love the name, but we eventually settled for something simpler as we have a tricky surname.

Was just watching Parade's End which has a female character called Valentine in it, and it had never even crossed my mind as a choice for a girl - any thoughts?
This is entirely hypothetical as I'm not pg or ttc, but I have a sudden enthusiasm for the name and thought I'd canvass opinion!

I love Valentina for a girl, have a v good friend by that name. Nn is pronounced va-lay.

Gloriously wacky, but she will be Val, and then people will think shes Valerie.

I know a French Valentine, is just fabulous if you ask me.

I don't dislike Valerie so wouldn't be offended at the assumption!
I was keen on the NN Vivi.

We aren't going ttc for at least a year (DS is only 15mo) and we'll probably have a second boy so this is all rather daft, but SIL just had a beautiful little girl and I think I'm feeling a little broody! :)
