Following on from the nicknames for Catherine thread. I like Catherine with a C rather than K, but find it weird the nickname beginning with K if the name begins with C is Cate too try-hard?

FWIW I like Cate, although I have variously been called Catherine/Kate/Katy/Katie/Cat/Catt.... ow gawd its confusing!

She's going to have to spell out "Catherine with a C, yes...e..r...yes, i..n..e at the end" each time, so saying "Cate with a C" won't be any more hassle and its a bit more unusual and a bit less "Kate Middleton"

squoosh that's what i wanted to say but couldn't think how to say it nicely.

It looks odd, sorry.

All non-normal names are pretentious.

Jayde.
Sofee
Wombatt
Blade
Connner
Frijj-Magnette

All pretentious.

"non-normal"?! Must remember to get myself a book of normal baby names when naming my next child.
