Alexa - like
Alexia - like
Claudia - like
Olethea - prefer Alathea
Esme - love
Thea - doesn't do it for me but good nn for Alathea

I'm afraid it's nay to most of them from me, especially Olethea - what a mouthful!

the only ones I like are Thea and Esme - both very nice although the problem of two different pronounciations for Esme (Esmee or Esmay) that is continuously debated on here is a little offputting!

CurlsRUs · 17/08/2012 16:41

Love Thea and Claudia!

Weekipper · 17/08/2012 16:42

I just had an Esme this morning! Smile

PuppyMonkey · 17/08/2012 16:45

I've got on Esme
Esmee not Esmay

I don't really like the others sorry.

squoosh · 17/08/2012 16:49

Alexa - May(be)
Alexia - Nay
Claudia - Yay
Olethea - Nay
Esme - Nay
Thea - Yay

wetotter · 17/08/2012 16:55

I like Alexa, Esme and Thea. Claudia and Alexia are OK.

I don't like Olethea - it looks like a typo for Alethea (lovely name).

SirBoobAlot · 17/08/2012 16:58

I kind of like Alexa but it seems quite harsh. Maybe to Claudia.

Thea just seems like a nickname.

No to the rest. Sorry!

CanoeSlalom · 17/08/2012 17:52

Sorry but I don't like any of them TBH, we must have different taste OP.

BikeMedalsRunningMedals · 17/08/2012 17:56

Only like Claudia.

mathanxiety · 17/08/2012 18:00

Alexa - nice.
Alexia - the IA ending sounds as if unnecessary syllables were added for no reason except to make it frilly/fancy.
Claudia - sounds harsh to my ear.
Olethea - sounds like a southern US church lady name from the 1950s.
Esme - people will mispronounce; Esmee/Esmay...
Thea - a bit wispy and incomplete.

I only like Alexa.

manicinsomniac · 17/08/2012 18:03

Alexa - Yay, really like it
Alexia - Yay, like it. Prefer Alexis I think
Claudia - Yay with reservations. It's ok.
Olethea - Nay, it's awkward to say and not pleasant sounding
Esme - Yay, very sweet
Thea - Yay, really like it

Alexa or Thea for me but a great list.

Congrats Weekipper!!!
Thank you everyone, it is really interesting to get the feedback. I think my husband and I are the only people to like Olethea!!

Olethea sounds like a bath oil for eczema.

TenthMuse · 17/08/2012 18:43

I like Thea and Claudia. Quite like Alethea too, but not Olethea.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/08/2012 18:28

Love Claudia and Esme. Thea okay. Olethia is hideous, sorry. Alexa is a name I really dislike, sorry, and Alexia is worse.

Puremince · 18/08/2012 18:37

I like Alexa best, but I quite like them all except Olethea. It sounds like it should be something else, pronounced with a lisp. That's partly because I haven't heard it before, and I think I'd have to have it repeated a couple of times if I was introduced to an Olethea.
