You can spell it Emmy or Emmie. I like Emmy has a nn for Emmeline.

mrstowers · 17/08/2012 12:52

We have an Emmie. It is her nn, her full name is Emmeline which I love.

badtime · 17/08/2012 13:27

I know two women called Emmie - one is really Emmeline, the other is really Emma.

SpeckleDust · 17/08/2012 13:29

I know an Emmie - not just her knickname, it's the Name on her birth certificate.

BeatriceBean · 17/08/2012 13:30

Iwould assume a nn for Emma.

squoosh · 17/08/2012 13:31

Emme

evamummy · 17/08/2012 13:33

I'd assume Emmy was a nickname for something, either Emma or Emmeline.

Ham69 · 17/08/2012 14:08

I know a beautiful 8 year old called Emmie. It's her actual name and I think it's lovely.

tara0202 · 17/08/2012 14:13

I know an emmie short for emilia.

I also know an emmy which is not short for anything.

Kaekae · 17/08/2012 18:10

I think it a nn for Emma as this is my middle name given to me by my grandmother after her mother who was known as Emmie.

GnocchiNineDoors · 17/08/2012 18:13

I would spell it Emme.

Emmie looks like a nickname, whereas I think Emme makes it look like the complete name (think its the 'ie' on the end).

GetDownNesbitt · 17/08/2012 18:14

I teach an Emmy.

PipIsOutNow · 17/08/2012 18:16

Thanks for the replies. I really really love it as an actual name. Defo going top of my list!!! Thank you!

I'm not keen on shortforms on birth certificates. But Emmie is fine short for Emilia, Emma, Emmeline and so on.

Again, my friend has an Emmie, that is her given name. She is 5.

SirBoobAlot · 17/08/2012 18:27

I really really dislike nicknames used as full names. Makes me cringe a little bit. It works as nn for Emmeline, Emma, even Esme. But not a her full name.

MrsJamin · 17/08/2012 18:49

Or Emerald?

winkle2 · 18/08/2012 10:52

Emme
