What do you think of Georgina?

Still cooking #2 (EDD mid Nov), but s/he has a big sister Eleanor, who has referred to bump as 'baby George' as in Peppa Pig. Don't know the sex, so there are lots of names on the table so to speak, but DH is quite certain baby will be a she... Since DD's proclamation on the name (we ruled out Olly & Sausage BTW Grin) the name Georgina has started growing on me!! Is it the pg hormones??!!

So, in short, what do you think? Are there any horrible meanings or negative connotations that I should be aware of before I set my heart on it?

I should add. baby won't get a final name until s/he's born, obviously, but it does sound right with our surname. Middle name is also undecided.

Georgina is lovely!

Eleanor and Georgina sound good together.

She will probably be called Georgie as a nn at school - so as long as you like that as well?

Aworryingtrend · 13/08/2012 10:52

I like it. Very nice and goes well with Eleanor.

I think Georgina is a lovely name.

Lovely classic name :)

What do we think of Georgina? Well, she is a kind hearted and no nonsense woman. Always ready to help a friend in need, a generally all round good-egg Grin

Oh, I've got a little Georgina! She's 5. The name came out of nowhere too much Enid Blyton when she was born with a mass of curly black hair.

Thought we'd all call her George as a NN but it's never stuck. DS(2) calls her Eena, which is rather cute.

Badgerina · 13/08/2012 13:02

I think it's a great name!

lovely name and goes really well with Eleanor Smile

My friends 3 year old is named Georgina, really suits her and most people call her 'G'.

Chunkychicken · 13/08/2012 14:56

Thanks all - clearly my brain isn't completely addled with pg hormones :)

I could live with any of those NN (esp given the range of NN that Eleanor can produce...) and MissKeithLemon do I detect a hint of bias? Wink

Don't want to get too attached to a name given baby could be a boy and it might not suit them, but beginning to think we've got a good contender :)
