Do your worst - names that really DON'T work with the surname Green

I'm a Green, and it just isn't easy being a Green and trying to name a child.

Anything with the initial P is out,

Ta ta, Teresa!

Bethany? What, Bethnal?!

we've put so many names with our name and the pairings are laughable, but there must be more I have missed. So, go on, do your worst and help me rule a few out, while getting a laugh at the same time. TIA.

Anything ending in -ene or -ine but that's probably a good thing e.g. Norine, Janine, Jolene.

Lancelottie · 06/08/2012 16:16

Anything starting with P.

Ambrosius · 06/08/2012 16:17

Rachel (friends)

Lancelottie · 06/08/2012 16:18

Sorry, you already had that. Any colours OTHER than green: do not use Scarlett Green, Ruby Green, Amber Green, Rose Green unless you want a very confused infants class.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/08/2012 16:19

Theresa... (boom boom tish...) Blush

Lancelottie · 06/08/2012 16:19

Likewise most flowers, or you'll sound like a road direction: Lily Green, Rowan Green, Holly...

nickelbarapasaurus · 06/08/2012 16:19

Rose
Amber
basically any colour or flower or plant name.

anything ending in -a or -or, I think as well.

nickelbarapasaurus · 06/08/2012 16:20

you could always change your surname Wink

itsatiggerday · 06/08/2012 16:25

Emerald...

noteasybeinggreen · 06/08/2012 16:36

I used to love the name Amber. Now all I can think of is a daughter with traffic lights for a head!

And YY to not using any sort of flora.

Loving Nolene Green Grin Wink

nickel we have used -a already. I think it works..... [worried face] Shock

Anything spelling PIG, FAG, BOG or BAG, as the initials.

Personally I'd avoid Vince Green too, unless you vish to sount like a bad German car mechanic.

nagynolonger · 06/08/2012 16:46

Ian Peter.........I P Green is not good.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 06/08/2012 16:49

Turham
Camberwick

Best avoided

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 06/08/2012 16:49

Turnham

cutegorilla · 06/08/2012 16:51

Scarlet Amber Green - go on you know you want to!

TimeWasting · 06/08/2012 16:53

Ending with -s so no to Alice, Carys etc.

I'd suggest two or more syllables too, for a girls name at least I think.

Birdies · 06/08/2012 17:01

Gang

Birdies · 06/08/2012 17:02

Though being serious now, I actually quite like some of the suggestions of things not to have - Lily Green sounds lovely to me! Blush

bronze · 06/08/2012 17:05

Eva Efa etc
