DP's suggestion for planned first child (as yet unconceived).
It is his grandmother's name, objectively I like it but am concerned about the connotations - other members of the family have already expressed reservations.

What do you think?

Really, really sorry to jump on the band wagon but i thought of hindley straight away.

Is there a similar name that doesn't hold the same meaning?

qumquat, the thing is, there've been plenty of other people called Fred, Rose and Ian. Given their popularity, there's plenty of other name associations for people to latch onto.

Myra's a lot less common, which is why people are having trouble thinking of any other Myra's.

I love the name Myra, it's soooooo pretty! It deserves to be reclaimed IMO. Not sure I'd want to be the one to do it though!
