Pretty and unique girls name ideas?

I'm looking for a pretty girls name to go with Poppy (DD1). I'm after something very uncommon though. I like Lucia but I don't think it goes with Poppy. And i also like Dolcie and Darlie (made that one up though!).

All ideas gratefully received!

Lettice

i think Lucia goes beautifully with Poppy.

what about Dulcie? it means 'sweet'

Haveyouheardtheone · 04/08/2012 14:23

The only problem with Dulcie is I think of "dull". Don't you think Lucia is more classy whereas Poppy is cute? But would be pleased if they go though! Not sure how unusual Lucia is though.

Re Lettice I think of salad dressing.

I do let things put me off names easily, maybe why I'm struggling!

I don't think you can guarantee unique unless you create your own.

Some less frequently used names that might go:

Cecily, Daphne, Coralie, Prunella, Grisela, Verona, Allegra, Dahlia, Della, Hadassah, Laurette, Maura, Carlotta?

Ottillie

I think Olive would be a lovely match for Poppy?!

Haveyouheardtheone · 04/08/2012 14:46

I should have said unusual rather than unique. Something outside the top 50 names anyway.

Thanks for your replies - I like Dahlia, Ottillie and Honor best so far. Olive is sweet but I just think of what I had with some bread earlier Grin

Ciara pronounced Key-Ah-Ra.

I love Dulcie! Is it short for something?

SmethwickBelle · 04/08/2012 14:54

Sylvia is due for a come back I reckon. I quite like Gloria too. Both 50s names, and all that retro stuff is in at the moment isn't it?

SmethwickBelle · 04/08/2012 14:55

Wren is pretty too.

I met a gorgeous little Eloise yesterday, known as Lou-Lou but think the name may be growing in popularity?

MaggotMummy · 05/08/2012 07:49

My current favourites at the moment are Robyn, Paige and Darcy
