I have an uncle Henk and an Uncle Jan. My brother's middle name is Jan.

We both like Johannes (full form of Jan).

It will be for a middle name. Any suggestions?

The most popular baby boys names right now seem to be all variants of Lucas, luuk etc., and then very "western" names, lots of jaydens/jayson/Kevin! (yes, for real! ;))

At creche tbh you wouldn't immediately think I was in NL, my son's best friend is Jasper.

There's also a caspar, brother of merlijn.

Should check my class lists from last year for some more (or shake my head a bit to jog my memory Smile )

Engelsemama · 03/08/2012 21:43

And btw Johannes is also shortened to Hans.

Let me know which ones you like and I will try to think of more!

Incidentally, two names I really like in Dutch but which do not work at all in English: Freek (freak?!Grin) and Bas (bus?).

DolomitesDonkey · 04/08/2012 06:23

You possible also won't want to go with Stijn ("stain") or Grim - 2 Flemish boys I once worked with.

Engelsemama · 04/08/2012 09:04

Pim is also nice.

I like Bas as well. Lots of variations - Sebas, Bastiaan, Sebastiaan.
