What do you think of the following to go with existing DD Honor?

  • Florence Imogen
  • Poppy Constance
  • Beatrice Poppy

Any other ideas of names that sound right as a sister to Honor? Thank you!

Faith ?

Beatrice Poppy from your list.

Olympicnmix · 30/07/2012 21:18

I think Beatrice is perfect.

I'd go for another virtue name as a mn like Hope, Faith. Constance but see you like Poppy quite a lot!

eatyourveg · 30/07/2012 21:19

Not often that I get to say this on these threads but I love all your names. Florence Imogen or Beatrice Imogen would be my favs.

Hello Schplappo we have an Honor. Excellent name Grin

We have Beatrice on our list as we can't have too many Honor and Beatrice as sister Wink So for that reason Florence, which I love but DH doesn't so have vetoed it. Please use.

I like Poppy, but I feel hence why we picked it that Honor is a very strong yet feminine name, Poppy is just a bit well...soft iygwim.

I would avoid Florence Imogen because of the initials issue (should she ever marry/change her surname) - personally I wouldn't like to be FIT, FIB, FIG etc! I think Honor is quite a serious-sounding name so would go for Beatrice - Poppy is a bit twee for me.

Beatrice Poppy is just a perfect name! I want it!

Gugglebum · 31/07/2012 06:31

With Poppy I hear "Put a poppy on 'er!" Poppy Honor? Maybe it's just me. I agree that Honor sounds more weighty as a name and to me Beatrice is a more perfect match.

schplappo · 31/07/2012 10:10

Thanks everyone - it's so nice that you seem to like my names! Jaffacakehips you have excellent taste! Lurcherlover, good point about surnames - Poppy Imogen is not on my list because of our surname but I hadn't thought of future surname issues. Olympicnmix, I don't really want another virtue name for a first name as I don't want them to sound like a matching set if you see what I mean... I take the point about Poppy being more lightweight than Honor but I still really like it. It's the name I would have called Honor if she wasn't Honor.

Of the other suggestions, I like Jocasta but she married her own son didn't she? Perdita makes me think of 101 Dalmations. I like Marianne too...

I know 2 Honors - one has sister Lois and the other has sister Gabrielle. Both work IMO.

fluffiphlox · 31/07/2012 10:53

Obey :)

IamtheSnorkMaiden · 31/07/2012 11:22

I like Constance and Beatrice most. They fit better with Honor.

All lovely names though.

Bunbaker · 31/07/2012 11:25

I love all the names. I don't think it matters whether the name "goes with" Honor. The names are just lovely.
