Eleanor, Alice or Verity?

I'm agonising over a name for DC2 if it turns out to be a girl. There are three contenders at the moment, but I'm very picky... DD1 is Bethany Rose.

Eleanor Hope
Alice Jane
Verity Jane

I love Eleanor, but I'm not keen on the popularity of Ellie and it's bound to be shortened to Ellie isn't it? If we did go for Eleanor I would have liked Jane as a mn (for family reasons) but our surname starts with T, so the initials are uncomfortably close to eejit!

I like Alice, but is it a bit plain?

And DH isn't sure about Verity. Also it rhymes with Bethany, although DD1 is almost always referred to as Beth, rather than Bethany.

Surname is 2 syllables, starts with T.

My 2yo DD is an Eleanor amongst many Ellen & Emily's. She only gets the nn 'Nellybum' by us/family, everyone else (so far) says Eleanor. I'm sure it will change at school but I liked the fact that there are numerous nn for Eleanor.

FWIW #2 is due in November and Verity is one of my 'shortlist' names (if you can call a list of 50 girls names & 30 boys names a shortlist...) Grin

Oh and if you're interested, in 2010, Eleanor was ranked 61st, so not exactly unpopular...

Love Alice DD1 has Alys as a middle name (welsh/ old english spelling)

Went to school with a dreadful Verity and know LOADS of Eleanors in the dd's school.

It isn't often that I say it - but I like all of them!

I love Verity and Alice, and considered both for dds. Eleanor is pretty too.

Verity Txx could be slightly tricky to say. Bethany and Alice sound best together imo.

I would just enjoy mulling it over until the baby arrives.
