Yep, set on Beth for DD, knew at once it wasn't for her, took 3 days to find another that suited her. Weird. Beth was lovely, just wasn't right for DD, I'm sure it would have suited her in the end, but didn't feel right in those early days. I love her name best now out of the 3 DC, so I'm glad I changed my my mind.

We had two potential names for DD. When we saw her we both just knew which one she was! Smile

I didn't make up my mind until I had seen any of my DCs.
Had a short list of favourites, obviously, but needed to meet them first.

Oh definitely, she was a Molly Grace all throughout my pg, even the doc in the operating room said here's your molly, I took one look at her and said no way, she's too big to be a molly and another name came to me and that's what she is and it suits her perfectly

yes, when DS was born I decided his name was wrong and he was really a George. DH went Hmm and we stuck with the original name. DH was right, I was one giant hormone at the time!

We had settled on (and loved!) our most recent boy's name in advance, and called him by that name for about 5 weeks. But every time someone said it, I had this twinge, and the thought, "No, that's not him." We switched to the name that had been the other one in contention beforehand, and it is him to a tee. He's now 13 months, and I think the original name would not have suited him at all.

RubyFakeNails · 25/07/2012 18:52

Nope, picked them in advance and stuck with them, mainly thanks to DH and DM. I was all over the place after the birth and thought of going with things that I hated earlier. I now love their names and am happy I stuck with them.

No, we went with the names we'd spent 9 months deliberating over chosen. Although with DC2 I really felt that he was a Leo once he was here! DH We stuck with our chosen name though, and I'm glad we did as he is very much that and isn't a Leo at all, much as I like the name Leo!

paradisechick · 26/07/2012 07:54

I think I'm in the total minority but we didn't even discuss names until they were born and it took us 12 days each time!

McPhee · 26/07/2012 07:56

Our name was all set to go, but I took one look at Dd, and sobbed to DP that she didn't look like an Iris.....so fecking glad we called her Molly now. It suits her perfectly Smile

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 26/07/2012 07:58

I didn't but DH did with DC2. I went with it as the morphine was luffly and I didn't care.

I'm glad. Both names were lovely but the one actually chosen was more suited.

No only on ds3 as the name i had didnt suit him took me a couple of days to pick a name.I picked Ryan its a nice enough name wasnt on my list but somehow it was the only name that suited him.So we kept it.
