I think
Henry Simms,
Oscar Simms and
Artie/Arthur simms
all sound really good - all sound like really nice blokes Grin

Others are nice, although as Harry is a traditional nickname of Henry you could go with Henry and then if he looks more like a Harry, use that...

shimmy0 · 24/07/2012 09:30

Emmett and Harry, Henry is ok too but I honestly dont even rate the rest, sorry.

DawnOfTheDee · 24/07/2012 09:35

I like Harry, Henry and Artie are all really nice.

Emmett makes me think of Hyacinth Bucket's neighbour.

shimmy0 · 24/07/2012 09:37

Harry is a nickname of Harold too I think

LiteraryMermaid · 24/07/2012 09:39

I like Oscar, Henry and Artie/Arthur, and all go well with Simms. Emmett is nice too, but might suffer from the Twilight connection?

WopBopALooBop · 24/07/2012 09:45

Love Emmett! Harry and Oscar are lovely too.

3boysgirlontheway · 24/07/2012 09:50

I could live with all of them except Pip and Monty (and maybe Burtie!)

NoComet · 24/07/2012 10:14

Oscar
Harry/Arhie/Henry Simms = old chap in background of sit com.

Emmit/Emmet = very annoying tourists jamming up the roads of Cornwall.

Urban dictionary has even worse definitions, just don't do it!

NoComet · 24/07/2012 10:16

Also Harry and Archie are very common here.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/07/2012 14:44

Pip is gorgeous but I'd use it as a nn for Philip.
Like Oscar and Monty.
Don't like any of the others.

5madthings · 24/07/2012 14:45

LOVE Emmett, which would have been my dd's name had she been a boy!

also Oscar as my ds2 is oscar :)

Ambrosius · 24/07/2012 14:50

Oscar Simms sounds lovely. I like Emmet but I don't think it goes with your surname. :(

CouldYouPleaseCallMeCordelia · 24/07/2012 15:32

Love Arthur the best, Arthur Simms, great name. Also like Henry but it's very popular atm. Love Emmett too, but I don't think it quite goes, sorry.

thegreylady · 24/07/2012 15:44

Arthur or Henry definitely :)

Badgerina · 24/07/2012 18:09

Arthur is lovely and sounds good with your surname. So does Oscar but it's very popular (my 8 year old is an Oscar)

VickyU · 24/07/2012 20:15

Another vote for Arthur Simms! I had a great friend at university called Arthur and I always called him Artie but nobody else did. So I guess what I'm saying is I don't think it a natural nn in the same way as some of the others. So he might end up just being known as Arthur! I love both Arthur and Artie. I would have chosen it myself but just doesn't go with my incredibly difficult surname which starts with a 'U' !

messagetoyourudy · 24/07/2012 20:26

If you call him Emmett don't ever take him to Cornwall, we will all think he is an annoying tourist. Also, if you called him Grockle and don't take him to Devon!
Arthur is great - Artie or Art for nn.
What about Albert - Albie for nn?
