Lilia or Lila?
We nearly decided on Lilia but now I am thinking of Lila.
What do you think? And would you prounance Lila as ''Leela'' or ''Lyla''?

I would go for Lila pronounced 'Lyla'.

MammaTonic · 20/07/2012 20:46

I prefer Lila, promounced 'Ly-La'

Lula, Nuala (Noo-la) and Lola are also nice (thought I'd suggest some alternatives just in case! Please ignore me if you're se on Lilia or Lila).

GnocchiNineDoors · 20/07/2012 20:49

I much prefer Lila pronounced 'Ly-La'

Also agree with pp, Nuala is lovely. Also Una.

thisisyesterday · 20/07/2012 20:58

i would pronounce it Ly-la

i prefer Lilia though

mathanxiety · 21/07/2012 00:46

I would pronounce Lila 'Lyla'

I prefer Lilia anyway. I also like Lyra.

RubyFakeNails · 21/07/2012 00:49

Ly-la.

Lilia reminds me of Lillets.

erikali · 21/07/2012 07:54

Thanks for your answers. What do you think of Liliana?

picnicbasketcase · 21/07/2012 07:56

Liliana is my favourite so far, followed by Lila. Not keen on Lilia.

ll31 · 21/07/2012 09:49

Or lily?

Badgerina · 21/07/2012 09:57

Layla? Or Leila?

I like the Leela pn best, because I like Futurama Grin

3bees · 21/07/2012 18:31

I prefer ly-la from the options though I do like Layla and also Lyria which is a bit different.

skyebluesapphire · 21/07/2012 18:34

Girl at dd school is Lila pronounced Leela

Emandlu · 21/07/2012 18:39

I would pronouncy Lila as Lee-la.

Of all of them I like Liliana best.

puds11 · 21/07/2012 18:43

ly-la

BelleStar · 21/07/2012 21:41

My niece is Lila, with the first syllable short - as in Lily. It's much more unusual, and very lovely! Just to throw something else into the mix! I'm also a big fan of Leila.

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 21/07/2012 21:50

Prefer leila/Layla or leela :)

shimmy0 · 21/07/2012 21:54

It's Pronounced Lyla. I believe I heard it like that when Gary Oldman's sister Lila Moss was being interviewed one time.

cece · 21/07/2012 22:01

I like Lillian.

But out of your two names I like Lila, pronounced Lyla. I thinkk Lyra is very slightly nicer.

Along the same lines;

Leah
Layla

phlebas · 21/07/2012 23:37

Lila & I'd pronounce it Ly-la (though my step-sister was pr Leela & I had a friend Lyla who spelt it Lilah)
