OH thinks all my name suggestions are posh/poncey (even Madeleine!) but has just come out with Juliana (pron Julie-arna)! Not sure where it came from but I want to suggest some similar names while he's in the mood. I like it but really don't like Julie as a nn. I thought of Eliana..can you think of any more?

I've always liked Lilliana which sounds similar or how about Juliette?

My SIL is Julie. Her name is normally shortened to Ju, but family call her Juju if that helps with the nn issue.

Surely Juliana is not pronounced like that?

Slightly similar - Marianna?

Georgiana?

How about:
Mariana/Marianna
Viviana
Ariana/Arianna
Gianna
Tatiana
Rosanna
Susanna(h)?

Or you could just go with Juliana and have Lia or Anna as a nickname?

Juliana is lovely. Also like Valentina, Georgina, Tatiana, Carlotta - all beautiful, elegant names that work well in most languages.

(I'm not keen on Madeleine or Maddy at all, I'm afraid).

eatyourveg · 20/07/2012 15:47

Georgiana

He turned his nose up at all of those! Apparantly he's gone off Juliana now...God help me.
Thank you for your thoughts. Smile
