Is Aurora too unusual?!

There can, of course. It IS a lovely name. Smile

I wasn't disregarding your comment sometimes, i am a bit superstitious about things like that and it was my first thought when I saw the news just now!

I only know of one Aurora, and her name is shortened to her first and mn initials.

I think I said before I do find it a bit of a tongue twister! And because you like Rory as a nn, don't assume that you'll use it :) DD1 is Charlotte, I intended to use Lottie (had a thing in my head about a Little Lottie with blonde hair while pg Hmm ), and she is a definte Charlotte, and will not accept anyone calling her anything else :o

I have chosen a definite name for this baby... but I know very well I am likely to change my mind when I see him / her. And again on day 3. And wobble before registering the birth. Then wonder if I've done the right thing....

I love it but I'm biased 6 month old dd is aurora. Gets called rora or Rory :)

MrsApplepants · 20/07/2012 11:03

It's my daughter's middle name, named after my grandmother, so obviously I love it! We didn't use it as a first name as its quite hard to pronounce for some people, especially if they have a slight lisp!

Aurelia is lovely too

Viviennemary · 20/07/2012 11:05

It is a little unusual. But I love it.

NurseBernard · 20/07/2012 11:30

I was going to come on and suggest Aurelia as a much lovelier alternative, but see I've been beaten to it.

saffronwblue · 20/07/2012 11:32

I know a lovely adult one with a Russian surname. She is usually called Rory.

Nemonemo · 20/07/2012 11:34

I find Aurelia much much harder to say than Aurora, which is why I discarded it. It was on our list because I think it looks beautiful written down....I just can't say it!!!
