Hugo or Freddie (Fredrick) ?

Opinions please. If you hate both can you leave your favourite boys name instead! thank you!!

Hugo, Freddie is always going to make me think of Freddie Kruger, child of the 80's, still scares me now, wish I hadn't thought about him just as I'm gong to bed, oh no ........

Frederick/Freddie is a great name :)

Out of the two, I would go with Hugo because there are so many Freddies about now, the name has lost all appeal to me

LOVE Hugo. Frederick is fine too. Not a huge fan of the nn Freddie.

Love Hugo. I like Frederick but don't like Freddie or Fred as nns, particularly for adults.

Other choices I like: Rufus, Elliot, Jasper??

Why would you name your child the same name as a character who was a paedophile who murdered teenagers in their sleep!!

Frederick is a great name-I love it.

If you are down to these last two names, why not wait and see if either of them appeal more when you see the baby? ie does he look more like a Freddie or a Hugo.

Had a friend who called her son something completely different to the name she'd planned all through pregnancy (and prior pregnancy when she had a girl) - because when he was born, the name didn't seem to suit him and the other name really did...

I like Freddie, short for Frederick.

The names I had picked for a boy were Isaac, Evan or Aidan.

I wouldn't worry about the Kruger comment above, lots of people call their babies Charles (Manson), Joseph (Goebbels) etc....
