Seth (was top of the list, buti it's been used by a friend)
Ted (love this, but there's already an Edward in the family; Theodore's a bit much for our common surname!)
Barney (has comic connotations alongside DD's name!)
Fred (ditto Barney)
Frank (ditto Barney!)

Any more ideas please?

Arthur?

Ted is also a derivative of Edmund, if that's wouldn't be too dreadful as a Sunday name, so you could still use Ted.

Also, would Theo on it's own do instead of Theodore

FartyMcTarty · 19/07/2012 12:44

Arthur's on the list. I like Theo, just hot sure about shortening to Ted.

If you have a common surname, I'd try to find a less common first name (depending on which area your ds may work in one day, it can be handy to be found easily, e.g. online)

I LOVE Arthur, Frederick, Quentin, Stanley and Linus! All classic, slightly old fashioned but not overused (yet?).

TheSteveMilliband · 19/07/2012 18:08

Farty, Is your dd called pebbles? or rubble?Grin

amck5700 · 19/07/2012 18:47

TheSteveMilliband - I thought Wilhemina or however it's spelt (Wilma)

I like Stanley/Stan

VolAuVent · 19/07/2012 21:31

Alfred/Alfie
James/Jim
Saul
Hector
Miles
Jerome
Clifford

TheSteveMilliband · 20/07/2012 00:09

Ah, probably more likely amck, though think I have it farty Wink. Theo's good, like it. Seth always makes me think of Seth starkadder from cold comfort farm.

sonniboo · 20/07/2012 07:29

Am curious about op's dd name now...

saffronwblue · 20/07/2012 07:31

Ned?

NickNacks · 20/07/2012 07:31

It'll be Betty!

FartyMcTarty · 20/07/2012 09:39

It would! Love Ned. Think Theo is quite a possibility now, though toying with the idea of discussing Edward with my aunt - perhaps using it on the birth cert but Ted generally. Wouldn't be The Same Name then!

I hoped it was Pebbles or BamBam
